The last year has flown over, in fact, the last two years has, and I cant quite believe Im starting my final major project. To decide on a theme I had to look around my house for something to use as inspiration. After visiting Barcelona in October I felt really inspired so thought this would make a great theme. Whilst I was there I found this amazing tile just lying in a skip so decided it would be a waste not to bring a couple home! The colours are beautiful and Id like to take these for my collection.
Id like to make 3 garments for my capsule collection; a tailored jacket, a blouse and a skirt. I have been looking at the work of Gaudi around Barcelona, including the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and Casa Batllo. I intend to experiment with print inspired by this architecture as well as the traditions of Barcelona, whilst incorporating the colours taken from the tile. However, Id like the garments to be smart, feminine and clean. I am therefor considering using print as a lining to add a fun element to my collection.
